John Schaal’s Eagle Scout Project

This project, completed by John Schaal with the help of Tree Harper and numerous scout and adult volunteers at Harper Junior High School during the Spring of 2025, converted a grassy quadrangle into an outdoor classroom space.

The outer edges of the quadrangle were deturfed and replaced with three Crepe Myrtle trees, a layer of compost, and a layer of mulch. All excess dirt and turf was used to build up a berm to contribute to the space’s natural amphitheater shape.
