Wear your Class A Uniform Shirt for car travel
Troop red t-shirt (wear under Class A or change at trailhead)
Extra t-shirt
Layers for warmth and sun/wind protection. Recommend combination of these: sweater or sweatshirt, long-sleeve shirt, light jacket
One pair shorts
One pair pants (legs zip off are fine)
Change of underwear
3-4 pair socks - wool or synthetic are better than cotton
Comfortable sturdy shoes or hiking boots
Hat - recommend wide brimmed for sun protection
Lightweight Rain gear or poncho
Small towel
Toothbrush and toothpaste
Sunscreen (SP30 or more)
Chapstick
Flashlight and extra batteries
1 large plastic bag for wet/dirty clothing
Scout knife if have or are working on totin’ chip
Sunglasses
Water bottle(s) - carry at least 1 liter
Cup, bowl or plate, fork, knife, spoon
Sleeping bag
Sleeping pad
Scout handbook if you want to work on advancement
Sack lunch for Saturday
Food for self for Sat dinner and Sunday breakfast. Just-add-hot-water or no-cook meals are recommended; we take limited cooking gear
OPTIONAL
- Day pack
- Sleep wear (save weight by sleeping in your clean clothes for Sunday)
- Sandals or similar for beach and around camp
- Playing cards, frisbee
- Washcloth
- Tip: pack clothes in compression sacks or ziploc bags to keep organized and clean
- Tents and tarps are available from the troop.
Troop gear we will take: backpacking stoves (2) and fuel, matches, 3 pots, potholders, dish soap, hand soap, tents, tarps, first aid kits, coffee/tea, cocoa, small shovel, technu soap {beware poison oak!},
